Wednesday - Paparroa, Whakapirau, Maungaturoto, Kaiwaka

Recycling Collections
All collections remain the same unless advertised prior (Home page) To avoid non collection please ensure that all blue and yellow bags are placed on the kerbside by 8am of collection day. Please check out of designated recycling bag areas.

These areas are our only designated recycling areas. Although we endeavour to pick up the yellow recycling bags put out in other areas, this is not always possible, and they could be treated as rubbish.
What you can recycle
If your plastics DO NOT have a #1 or 2 on the bottom, unfortunately we don’t accept it. We CAN NOT accept #3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and it is classed as rubbish
PAPER | Magazines, biscuit boxes, cereal boxes |
CARDBOARD | Beer Boxes, Coke Boxes. The easiest way to tell if it is cardboard or paper is “if it goes in the fridge and doesn’t go soggy it is cardboard” |
ANCHOR WHITE MILK BOTTLES ONLY | Only the Anchor White Milk Bottles NOT cream bottles, they go in #2 Plastics |
CLEAR MILK BOTTLES ONLY | Clear Milk Bottles NOT cream bottles, they go in #2 Plastics |
CLEAR PLASTIC #1 | Clear Plastic with a #1 eg Coke Bottles, Clear water bottles, Fanta bottles |
ALLUMINIUM CAN | It is an Aluminium can if you can crush it with your hand eg coke or lemonade can etc |
TIN CAN | Tin eg spaghetti, baked beans, coffee tins, milk formula tins |
BROWN GLASS | Brown bottles |
GREEN GLASS | Green Bottles, Blue Bottles |
CLEAR GLASS | Clear Bottles, Clear Jars |
Things that are NOT Recyclable and go in the rubbish:
- Plastic Buckets
- Polystyrene
- Calf Meal Bags
- Window Envelopes
- Soiled Paper Towels
- Used Coffee Cups
- Toilet Seats
- Ice Cream containers, margarine or butter containers, yogurt containers
- Meat trays, bakery packaging, vege packaging
- Tetra Pac eg Just Juice Cartons, Milk Cartons
- Coated Paper eg the wrapping of photo copy paper.
- Magazines are fine and go in paper
- 20 Litre plastic Spray or detergent containers
- No Mirrors or Window glass
